Health issues

  • Water is lost constantly through the skin, lungs and kidneys. These lost fluids need to be replenished. We need to drink 2-2/2 litres of water per day. If the water is hot we need to drink more of it due to evaporation and sweat loss. If you are ill and have a high temperature, sickness, diarrhoea or exercise, you can lose upto 1-2 litres of water per hour.

  • Dehydration impairs concentration and causes headaches, fatigue and constipation.

  • Good levels of hydration are important to maintain optimum sports performance.
